Day 5

Jan 11, 2026

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33 NIV

Whether you realize it or not, your life is already built around something. It could be your schedule, your responsibilities, your goals, or your desires, but Jesus makes it clear: if you put the wrong things first, everything else will eventually fall out of place. Priorities determine stability. When God is first, everything else flows. When God is not first, everything else fights for control.

Matthew 6:33 is more than a verse— it's a blueprint. Jesus isn't asking you to seek Him after you've handled life. He's asking you to seek Him before anything else. Why this is so important for us is that He knows that whatever sits at the top of your priorities list becomes the main driver of all your decisions, all of your emotions, and, ultimately, the direction of your life.

Something will always try to take the top spot, even good things, but when God is first, He orders everything else in your life with the wisdom you cannot produce on your own. Putting God first isn't about adding more to your plate. It's about letting Him set the direction of your life.

Today:

• List your top five priorities— write down the top five things that currently get the most of your time, attention, and energy.

• Compare them to God's priorities— and ask yourself, "Where does God fall on this list? What would it look like if He were truly first?"

• Make one practical shift today— pray before planning, give God the first part of your income, and schedule devotion time before other commitments.

• Let God reorder your life— let Him speak into your calendar, decisions, finances, and relationships.
