Day 12

Jan 18, 2026

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 NIV

In life, so many people try to do everything in their own power, but no matter how powerful you are, eventually, you will hit a wall. Human resolve runs out, and, eventually, our effort gets tired. But God never intended for you to follow Jesus in your own power. He gave you the Holy Spirit so you can live with supernatural strength.

Before the disciples preached a sermon, healed the sick, or changed the world, Jesus gave them one instruction: wait for the Spirit. He told them to wait because the assignment was too big for human ability, and the same is true for you. You are not called to a natural life. You are called to a spirit-empowered life.

The Holy Spirit fills what's empty, He strengthens what's weak, and He empowers what's surrendered. He produces His fruit that you can't fake: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He makes you bold where you used to be timid and gives you wisdom beyond human ability. He brings comfort where you used to feel alone.

You don't build your life for God. You build your life with God by the power of His Spirit. When you invite the Holy Spirit in, you allow Him to transform you from the inside out.

Today:

• Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you today— simply pray for the Holy Spirit to empower me. Lead me. Strengthen me.

• Notice his nudges— pay attention to moments where He prompts you to speak, encourage, forgive, or obey.

• Rely on His strength and not on your own—remind yourself, "I am not doing this alone."

• Ask yourself what area of your life needs the Holy Spirit's power and not your own strength— invite Him in.
