Day 11

Jan 18, 2025

Compassion is at the core of who God is and how He wants us to live. It’s the ability to feel deeply for others and act on their behalf. In Colossians, Paul urges believers to "clothe" themselves with compassion, meaning it's not just something we feel, but something we wear in active practice every day.

Jesus consistently modeled compassion in His life. Whether it was feeding the hungry, healing the sick, or comforting the broken-hearted, His actions showed that compassion is more than a feeling—it’s love in action. He was always aware of the needs around Him and responded with grace and care.

As followers of Christ, we are called to do the same. Compassion requires us to be sensitive to the suffering of others and to step into their pain with the love of Christ. It may be inconvenient or challenging, but it is through these acts of compassion that we reflect God’s heart to the world.

Reflection:

- Are there moments where you overlook the needs of others because of your own schedule or concerns?

- Who around you might need a gesture of compassion today, whether big or small?

- How does Jesus’ example of compassion challenge the way you respond to people in need?

Action Step:

Look for a tangible way to show compassion today. Whether it’s offering a listening ear to someone in emotional pain, donating time or resources to a cause, or reaching out to someone in need. Make an intentional effort to reflect Christ’s love in action.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for showing me compassion through Jesus. I ask that You soften my heart and open my eyes to the needs around me today. Help me to act with kindness and grace, sharing Your love with those who are hurting. Give me the courage and strength to step out of my comfort zone and reflect Your compassion in everything I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Bible Verses:

Colossians 3:12 (NIV)

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
