Day 12

Jan 19, 2025

In a world filled with chaos, uncertainty, and challenges, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and anxious. But Jesus offers us a peace that is unlike anything the world can give. It’s not a temporary escape or fleeting moment of calm, but a deep and lasting peace that comes from knowing God is in control.

The peace Jesus gives is rooted in His presence. When we trust in Him, we can find rest for our souls even in the middle of life’s storms. This peace doesn’t depend on our circumstances, but on our relationship with God. It is a gift that guards our hearts and minds when we choose to focus on Him instead of our worries.

Jesus knew His disciples would face trials and difficulties, so He reassured them with His peace. Today, He offers that same peace to us. No matter what we may be going through, we can surrender your fears, anxieties, and stress to Him and experience the calm that comes from being in His presence.

Reflection:

- What are the areas of your life where you struggle to feel peace?

- How does knowing Jesus’ peace is different from the world’s peace impact your perspective on your current situation?

- Are there any worries or fears you need to surrender to God today?

Action Step:

Identify one specific fear or anxiety that has been weighing on you. Spend time in prayer, asking God to help you surrender that to Him. Throughout the day, whenever that fear arises, remind yourself of Jesus’ promise of peace and choose to trust Him.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for the peace You give—a peace that is not dependent on my circumstances. I ask that You help me to rest in Your presence today. When I feel anxious or overwhelmed, remind me of Your promise and help me to trust You with my worries. Fill my heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Bible Verse:

John 14:27 (NIV)

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
