Jesus is Alive

Apr 20, 2025

The silence is broken. The stone is rolled away. The women, who had come to mourn, are the first to witness the unbelievable: Jesus, who was dead, is now alive. The tomb that once held the lifeless body of the Savior is now empty. The miracle has occurred. Death has been defeated. Jesus is victorious over sin, death, and the grave.

The news of His resurrection spread like wildfire, shaking the earth and hearts alike. What seemed impossible had just happened. Jesus had risen from the dead, fulfilling every promise He made, proving that He is the Son of God, and offering hope to all of humanity.

Matthew 28:1-10

"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him. Now I have told you.’

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell His disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. ‘Greetings,’ He said. They came to Him, clasped His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see Me.’”

Jesus is alive! The resurrection is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Without the resurrection, there would be no hope, no victory, and no assurance of eternal life. But because Jesus rose from the dead, everything has changed. His resurrection is the ultimate sign that He has conquered sin and death, offering us the same victory in Him.

This means that no matter what we face, we have hope. The struggles, the pain, the doubts—all of them are temporary in light of the resurrection. Jesus’ victory over death means we can have victory over anything that stands in the way of His purposes for our lives.

The resurrection also invites us into a new kind of life—one that is filled with hope, power, and purpose. Because Jesus lives, we too can live with the same resurrection power, overcoming the obstacles and challenges in our own lives.

Reflect

Take a moment to reflect on the power of the resurrection in your life. Jesus is alive, and because He lives, you have access to His victory and power. Are you living in the fullness of that resurrection life? Today, celebrate the reality of the resurrection and embrace the hope and freedom it brings. If you are struggling, remember that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for rising from the dead and conquering sin and death once and for all. I celebrate Your victory today and the hope that Your resurrection brings. Help me to live in the fullness of that victory, knowing that nothing can stand in the way of the life You offer. Thank You for the resurrection power that is available to me. I choose to walk in Your victory today. Amen.
